This spring Hotel Chocolat have a brand new range of delicious easter themed goodies and I was lucky enough to be sent – through Oxmeet – this lovely little selection. It contains four different chocolates: Choc Cross Bun, Creme Brûlée, Salted Caramel Egglet and a Pecan Praline Egglet. As a bit of a chocolate lover I was pretty keen to get stuck into these and I was definitely left wanting more! The first one I went for was the Creme Brûlée, as the least easter themed of all the chocolates, but it was still a treat. It is a little milk chocolate cup filled with a vanilla cream and it contains a oozy dark caramel sauce inside which makes it taste just like a Creme Brûlée.

Next was the Salted Caramel Egglet which was a milk and dark chocolate egg filled with a rather runny salted caramel sauce. I had to eat it in one mouthful or else it would have gone everywhere, you can’t eat that one delicately at all! I continued the egglet theme with the Praline and Pecan Egglet which was a lot easier to eat I have to say. It was a smooth, delightful little mouthful with just enough pecan flavouring to balance the nutty praline. Finally came the weirdest and most wonderful chocolate of them all: Choc Cross Bun. It looked like a hot cross bun but could a chocolate really taste like one too? Turns out it can! The cream inside the milk chocolate shell is flavoured to taste just like a hot cross bun, amazing!

So, if you are looking for an easter pressie and don’t want to get some boring plain chocolate egg then get this selection which is far more fun! Plus, there are also other selections in the range if four chocolates simply isn’t enough.
